Third amendment to the Medicinal Products Pricing Ordinance (AMPreisV) enters into force

Berlin, 12 June 2026 – The Third Ordinance amending the Medicinal Products Pricing Ordinance (AMPreisV) has been in force since 12 June 2026. The ordinance implements the coalition agreement and, in line with the agreement on the Pharmacy Remuneration Development Act (ApoVWG), provides for the per-pack fixed fee (Packungsfixum) to be raised in two steps from the current 8.35 euros to 9.50 euros:

• from 1 July 2026: increase to 9.00 euros
• from 1 January 2027: increase to 9.50 euros

Under the Statutory Health Insurance Contribution Rate Stabilisation Act (GKV-Beitragssatzstabilisierungsgesetz, BStabG), pharmacies are also to contribute to the savings. The draft cost-containment law provides that the health insurance discount (Kassenabschlag) will rise by 30 cents in 2027 to 2.07 euros per pack. The BStabG had its first reading in the Bundestag and Bundesrat on 12 June 2026 and has not yet entered into force.
